Of all the various surfaces in your home or business, the single most overlooked and neglected has to be the tile and grout, because we’ve all seen the images of folks scrubbing grout with tiny brushes to try and get them as clean as possible, not to mention the smell that usually accompanies this type of cleaning method. Ceramic tile flooring needs professional attention in order to optimize the look and life of your ceramic tile. Rely on us to keep your tile clean and sparkling.
Ever notice that the grout between your tiles seems to get darker over time? That is because it is slowly absorbing dirt and grime, causing it to discolor. Using a special grout brush combined with a CRI approved cleaner, we eliminate the dirt and discoloration and use hot water steam extraction to thoroughly clean and sanitize the tiles. Advanced Cleaning and Restoration provides solid, top tier tile and grout cleaning services…we do all the cleaning work and we use only the most eco-friendly materials and solvents to avoid any damage to your property or harm to your family and pets.
Tile also has the unwelcome habit of becoming chipped or broken down over time as well as the normal wear and tear that any floor will experience through constant use; and we can make all of those needed repairs as well. We are committed to keeping your home or business clean, healthy, and attractive. Advanced Cleaning and Restoration is here to handle those unpleasant jobs that we know you don’t want to be stuck with.
It is always imperative to use the right cleaning agent for tile and grout, since using one not specifically designed for this purpose can actually end up breaking down the sealer, eliminating many of the protective properties and making the stone and grout even more unprotected against staining. Some cleaners will etch into the polish and break it away; this discolors the surface and mars the stone itself. Tile and grout installation is a very complicated and pricey job, so it is always preferable to make sure that your cleaning process protects what you already have rather than having to create more work. We use only the latest advances and innovations in the restoration industry when it comes to of our tile and grout cleaning projects.
After your tile and grout are cleaned, protect your investment by having the grout sealed. Sealing your grout can extend the life of the ceramic tile and maintain its luster much longer than a normal cleaning treatment.
We have taken the time and committed the needed financial resources to make sure that all of our service personnel are properly trained and have the experience that is needed to work on your proeprty. Vinyl composite tile (VCT) flooring can help keep any business, office, or facility looking crisp, clean, and professional. As a result, it is always recommended that these floors be stripped and waxed regularly in order to achieve maximum results. It is also pretty obvious when the floors need to be done, since they will begin to look worn down, dulled out, or even yellowing
At Advanced Cleaning and Restoration, our technicians can strip, wax, and buff your VCT (vinyl composite flooring) to give your floor a like new appearance. Using a floor scrubber, we apply a floor finish stripper to remove all of the soil and wax buildup. We only use the proper and approved equipment, chemicals, and procedures to work on your flooring, and we can accommodate your hours in order to avoid disrupting your company’s schedule.
Stripping The Tile
Stripping and waxing is a term that is used to describe the process of removing the existing wax on the flooring and applying new wax. Wax is also commonly referred to as “the finish” and these two terms are often used interchangeably. Stripping is the more labor intensive process of the two, using low speed buffers to remove the old wax from the tiled flooring. A mop is used to apply stripper, which is allowed to sit for ten to fifteen minutes. The buffer is then used with an abrasive pad for stripping, and all residue is then mopped or vacuumed up. This process may have to be repeated until all of the wax has been removed. The floor will then need to be rinsed thoroughly to remove any loose particles that may remain. The floor must be completely clean in advance of the wax.
Once the floor has been allowed to dry completely, the wax can then be applied in a series of thin coats. The first coat is applied with a mop and allowed to dry, and then each successive coat is applied until the desired sheen is achieved. Six to eight coats may be required for a high luster sheen, while four coats will provide a medium shine.
Buffing and polishing are two more interchangeable terms, used to describe the use of a high speed buffer to bring out the shine and harden the wax.
VCT flooring should be maintained through regular mopping with cold water and an all-natural cleaner. The use of hot water on waxed floors may cause the wax to come up prematurely. It can also give the wax a cloudy appearance that is visually unattractive. You should refrain from using harsh cleaners or abrasives to mop a VCT floor, and other agents such as bleach or ammonia can strip away the wax from the flooring. Even plain cold water is preferable to using abrasive cleaners.
We recommend that you sweep and mop your VCT floors every day, buff them at least once a month, and strip and wax once every year.
